Israel Intensifies Gaza Strikes Amid Regional Shifts

On May 14, 2025, Israel conducted a deadly airstrike on a Gaza hospital, targeting Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar, resulting in at least 80 Palestinian deaths.

The strike, part of an intensified bombardment campaign, has drawn international condemnation as the United Nations warns of near-starvation conditions for nearly half a million Gazans due to Israel’s blockade.

This escalation coincides with U.S. President Donald Trump’s Middle East tour, where he announced the lifting of U.S. sanctions on Syria, urging normalization with Israel.

The timing has fueled tensions, with Israel reportedly frustrated by Trump’s focus on Gulf deals over its security concerns.

Meanwhile, Ukraine-Russia peace talks in Turkey remain uncertain, with neither Trump nor Putin confirmed to attend, underscoring the complex interplay of global conflicts.
